The Great Wall is the greatest man ever constructed building. It served to Mongolian nomadic tribes who have invaded again and again to fend off China. As a great snake, the Great Wall winds over a length of 6700 kilometers through plains, deserts, steppes and mountains. In the two thousand year history of the Chinese wall, some parts have disintegrated or disappeared altogether. Well known and visited by hundreds of thousands of tourists is the part of the Great Wall of about 50 kilometers away from Beijing during the Ming dynasty and the 14th to 16 Century was built with big stones. Others were mainly older parts of the wall built partly of mud, straw and wood.

The Great Wall forts have been linked in the provinces of Yan, Zhao and Qin together. Around the 7th to 6 Century BC started the construction of the wall and continuously until the 17th Century expanded.
