
In 1742 organized the French Governor of Mauritius, Mahe de Bertrand Francois Los Angeles Bourdonnais, a journey of discovery of these islands. Researchers from what they saw, and liked, the second campaign was organized in 1756. France took control of the islands and gave them their name from the modern French Treasury at the time. But the new French colony did not flourish quickly as hoped.
Seychelles was arrested and released several times during the French Revolution and the Napoleonic wars. Seychelles was officially given to the British under the Treaty of Paris in 1814. In 1888 installed a separate plate of directors in Seychelles. Seychelles became after nine years only, the administrator may be responsible for the affairs of the colonial powers Islands governor, and was commissioned in 1903, a British crown colony in itself.
