
The first inhabitants of Rio Muni pygmy tribes, and some of the north who are still living in the country. The Portuguese arrived in the late 15-century and founded colonies in the main islands. Portugal ceded land claims by Spain in 1778, but went after the outbreak of the Spanish to South America, where it was more or less in an area controlled by several trips to the establishment of Spanish Guinea in 1856. Climate
The country's tropical climate with marked wet and dry seasons, alternating between the mainland and the islands in response to changes in the monsoon.
